Catching Up on January Issues

Hey Everyone,

Guess I haven't been as attentive to this blog as I'd hoped to be. Sorry for that, it's just been a really crazy, busy start to the new year. But, all in all, that's a good thing. It enables me to continue being self-employed and I've always been really grateful for that.

Last week we (CTB) confirmed that we'll be opening for Robin Trower at Penn's Peak on Thursday night, March 13th. The rock 'n roll dentist (my good friend Dr. Bill Kiesel) is going to be our roadie that night so he gets into the show. BTW, there isn't a better dentist anywhere so if you are in need of dental care, ya gotta check him out. He's located in Quakertown, PA. Anyway, we are all looking forward to the RT show as he as always been a guitar hero of mine, ever since the Procol Harum days.

This past Sunday night I performed with Simone in NYC at  a great venue--Joe's Pub. It's part of the Joe Papp Public Theatre which is an awesome venue on Laffayette Street in the East Village. Simone won over the crowd with her first note. Honestly, she is that good. She is profiled in Oprah's O Magazine for Feb. '08. I played on her record which will be released in late March and looks like I'll be doing some pretty heavy traveling with her as a member of the stage band. It's pretty exciting. On Saturday, Feb. 2nd, Simone and the band will be appearing at the World Cafe Live in Philly. I'm really looking forward to this gig as it is one of Philly's coolest venues. Should be a really great time. Just to the right of where you are reading this is a link to Simone's site. Please visit when you can and learn more about this wonderfully multi-talented lady.

Also, CTB will be touring with our good friend (and my former guitar student) Eric Steckel. We have several trips to Europe sheduled and are very much looking forward to playing together. I just recorded with Eric for his new record which should be released in March--just in time for our concert together at the Sellersville Theatre in Sellersville, PA on March 22. Then in April we head to Jacksonville to perform with Eric at the Springing the Blues festival where we'll open for Friday night headliner Tinsley Ellis. We'll also play another set on Saturday afternoon.  We have gigs together in Chatanooga and Atlanta as well. I'll be adding these dates to the schedule so keep checking.

Well that should catch you up on what's happening for now. Enjoy your day and maybe we'll even get some snow here in the Northeast. So far it's all been rain!
